ABOUT US

Company history

Renewable energies are developing a strong momentum because they protect our climate. Solar power in particular is increasingly establishing itself as the consumer-orientated domestic energy supply in sync with the times. New technical solutions, years of development work and consistent field research enabled the founding of autarq GmbH in 2012 and the subsequent market launch of the autarq solar roof tiles.

Important impetus was provided by the increased energy efficiency rates that have been achieved in the meantime and the more favourable prices for solar cells on the world market. Connection techniques, system components and peripheral devices were constantly improved, and production processes developed and optimised. The first roofs were installed by autarq GmbH itself so that this valuable experience could flow directly into the further development of the products. In 2017 and 2018, autarq built up sales, successfully tested products and customer requirements in the market, and concluded strategic partnerships with tile manufacturers in Europe.

autarq GmbH has its company headquarters in Prenzlau in Brandenburg, and has been part of the econnext Group since the end of 2017. The management holding company specialises in investments in sustainable companies that have a positive impact on the earth’s resources, the climate and society.

MANAGING DIRECTOR
Constantin von Schierstaedt

Constantin von Schierstaedt is well familiar with the brick and building materials industry, in which he has spent his entire professional career. He completed his studies with a Master of Business Administration at the University of Buckingham in the UK.

He initially started as a sales representative at DISPO GmbH, a manufacturer of natural building materials, before later taking over the management and expanding the product range. Together with a partner, he simultaneously founded a company producing loam-based building materials, and was involved in the development of purely mineral loam plasters. In 2008, together with his brother, he took over a brickyard in southern Brandenburg, which mainly produced moulded bricks for use in restoring historic listed buildings and façades. In the company he was responsible for building up the sales structure and restructuring the organisation.

In 2020, Constantin von Schierstaedt moved to autarq GmbH to become Managing Director. At autarq, his goal is to further advance the sales of climate-friendly solar roof tiles.

Founder & Chief Technical Officer
Cornelius Paul

Cornelius Paul has broad expertise spanning the entire solar energy value chain, ranging from production technologies to power electronics and system design. After graduating with a degree in electrical engineering from Hagen University, he began his professional career in research and development at Philips Medical in 2000, and shortly afterwards founded Spiderbeam, a company specialising in lightweight short-wave antennas. From 2004, he focused on solar energy and became co-owner, CTO and Managing Director of the sales and consulting company Enlog, which supplies the global solar industry with raw materials, production processes and machines.

Since 2012, as co-founder and CTO of autarq GmbH, he has been responsible for the overall concept for the solar tile system and its specially developed components, as well as for selecting suitable production partners and manufacturing processes.

Circular Carbon GmbH
